Can you file for a domestic partnership if you are of opposite sex in California?

I was just wondering because if you don't want to get married can you file for domestic partnership?

If you don't want to get married, why file for anything at all? The point of domestic partnerships is so that people who cannot get married can be in a legal-binding union. To get out of it, there are still divorce-like actions that must be taken. So if you don't want to get married, don't.
